Mission and vision

DEMA's mission is to foment the generation and consolidation of the corporate system in Bizkaia; mainly, that made up of small and medium-sized enterprises.

To fulfil this mission, DEMA:

  1. Develops useful knowledge in order to apply it for the development of its activity, with the levels of excellence that its responsibility calls for, and to place it at the disposal of those benefiting from its activity, be they entrepreneurs or businesses. Its activity is ongoing and structured and the lines of research are directly linked to DEMA activity.
  2. It applies measures to foment business culture using pragmatic criteria of working in groups which are more likely to adopt the characteristics of the typical entrepreneur.
  3. It provides incentives for the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises; affording knowledge and financial aid in the stages prior to the founding and launching of a business; diagnosing the drafts for the business projects or business ideas and actively helping to design the future company, with an aim to accurately laying down the feasibility variable of the same.
  4. By affording knowledge and financial aid, it contributes to the launching stage of SMEs with an aim to helping overcome the usual difficulties at this crucial stage in the life of a company; which may derive from weaknesses in ways of operation or in the approach to strategy.
  5. It is involved in the development stage of SMEs, with an aim to facilitating their consolidation and raising their levels of competitiveness; placing at the disposal of management of the same tested and individualised knowledge to enable them to deal with the company's strategy management processes with the best "technology" available. Such processes include the management of innovation/planning and the management of technology, management of internationalisation as well as the management of processes seeking to overcome the difficulties of family businesses, where appropriate, and any others relating to strategy.
